Online Trauma Therapy for Women in Boise and Throughout Idaho

Helping you heal from trauma and find peace within yourself.

Dealing With Trauma is Incredibly Challenging.

Trauma can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself and those you love. It can affect how you see the world, respond to challenges, and even treat yourself. If you’ve experienced trauma, it might show up in your life in many different ways — anxiety, feeling on edge, difficulty trusting others, or feeling stuck in patterns you can't break free from. You may feel overwhelmed, but you don’t have to do this alone.

It’s Not Your Fault!

Trauma is often misunderstood. It’s not just about big, obvious events — it’s also about the small moments that left a lasting impact on how you feel about yourself and the world. You might be holding onto pain from things that happened long ago, even if you don't realize it. It’s not your fault, but healing is possible.

Trauma Affects More Than You Think

When trauma goes unresolved, it can show up in surprising ways. Maybe you’ve noticed that you:

  • Struggle to relax or feel safe, even when everything seems fine.

  • Find yourself reacting to situations with intense emotions, like fear, anger, or sadness.

  • Feel disconnected from your body or your emotions, like you’re just going through the motions.

  • Have difficulty trusting people, even those close to you.

  • Find yourself people-pleasing to avoid conflict or gain some control over your emotions.

  • Overthink, struggle with perfectionism, or feel like you’re not “good enough.”

These are just a few ways trauma can linger in your life, but you don’t have to stay stuck in these patterns. Trauma therapy can help you heal, feel more connected, and move forward with a sense of calm and safety.

How Trauma Connects to Disordered Eating and Body Image

Trauma often affects how we see ourselves — including our relationship with food and our bodies. Many women find that disordered eating or body image struggles stem from unresolved trauma. You may:

  • Use food to cope with difficult emotions.

  • Feel like you’re not good enough.

  • Obsess over your appearance or feel trapped in a cycle of dieting and guilt.

Trauma therapy can help you break free from these patterns. While disordered eating and negative body image may be part of your story, they don’t define you. Trauma therapy helps get to the root of these struggles so you can build a peaceful relationship with yourself.

How EMDR Therapy Can Help

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful tool for healing trauma. It helps your brain process painful memories so they no longer control how you feel today. With EMDR, you can release the weight of past experiences and start feeling more in control of your life. Whether you’re dealing with past trauma, disordered eating, or negative body image, EMDR therapy can help you process your trauma so that you feel safe and connected with yourself and the world around you.
